Q: Does this insurance protect the Protest Committee, Race Committee or any other committees of the organization, besides the Directors' and Officers'?

A: Yes, all "committee" members.

Q: Does this insurance protect the Board of Directors from any situation?

A: No. Bodily injury, death or damage to property will be found in your Organization's General Liability, Automobile Liability, Regatta Liability, On-The-Beach Liability or Workers Compensation Liability policies. This is normal. Directors' and Officers' Insurance protects the Board Members for their financial decision making and their decision making over the direction of peoples personal life matters. All known as “wrongful act.”

Q: What limits are available?

A: $500,000, $750,000, $1,000,000, $2,000,000
or $5,000,000 and up.

Q: What Self-Retentions (deductibles) are available?

A: Nil, $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500, $5,000 or $10,000.

Q: What do I do with the completed application?

A: If requesting $1,000,000 or less in limit, email, mail or fax the application to us.  If requesting more than $1,000,000, you must include an audited financial statement for the last two years or IRS 990's for the past two years and an employee handbook (if you have employees). Q: What is Employment Practices Liability?

A: Any employee, seasonal or full time, have the potential for suing the organization and/or the Directors and Officers for wrongful hiring, wrongful firing, discrimination, harassment, American with Disabilities Act, Family with Medical Leave Act, etc. This is relatively new coverage, and something all employers should consider.

Q: We do not have any employees, is the club still charged for Employment Practices Liability coverage?

A: No.

Q: How much does Directors' and Officers' insurance cost?

A: The price is dependent upon the activities of your organization. For one example, the minimum premium on a $1,000,000 limit policy is $1,000.

Q: What is the most difficult problem you deal with?

A: Legibility of the applications. Sometimes we need to call you back with clarification questions to help you out. When applying, please write clearly and complete all answers.
